Hello,  This post will be different from the other articles I write for this blog in that I want to talk about a group of women that I have become friends with on my Facebook page.  They are from all walks of life, from all parts of our country but are bound by one common thread and that is their love for the legendary singer/actor, Bobby Rydell.

When I first met these ladies it was through my articles that I wrote for my blogs here on WordPress.com.  Their feedback to what I was writing was an inspiration to me.  We had a special Trivia day of  just questions that I would ask them on Bobby, I thought I’d stump them but they warned me, they were good and good they were.  They answered every question, these ladies knew their stuff.  They are not groupies, these women have followed the career of Bobby Rydell from the early days of the late 1950′s right through to today.

I want to tell them publicly that I am so proud to be their friend, I’m the only Rydellette who is a male, (honorary member), and have been nicknamed a “Rydellette Bro”.  Bobby if you read this blog I want you to know how loyal these ladies are to you.

Bobby Rydell is one of the big stars from the “Golden Era of Rock and Roll” who is still out there performing and singing as good as ever.  His hits are legendary, four million sellers, 6 Top 10 hits, 33 Billboard charted hits, 8 two-sided hit records and a total of 276 weeks on the Billboard chart (Pop) which comes out to 5 years and 4 months of chart time, that does not count any albums.  That is quite impressive, it covers the years 1959-1965.

So ladies you have every right to be proud…and I would also like to say thank you to all of you who faithfully check out my blog each day.  I am proud to say that you now number in the thousands…thank you, so very much.

I believe that Bobby Rydell should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, if you agree won’t you please let them know. Contact the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at http://rockhall.com and let your feelings be known.

PS: Each week I will be featuring a few of Bobby’s hit records in posts on my web page.  I plan on writing a post on every one of his hit singles, with chart information and pictures.  Hope you will enjoy them.

Till the next time—Joe
