On April 14, 1958, 14 year old British born Laurie London started a 4 week stay at #1 on the Top 100 with his, HE’S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS on the Capitol Records label.  This would be the only charted hit for the teen male singer but what a hit, 19 weeks on the charts and sales of over a million copies.

Laurie’s single would cross over to the Billboard R&B chart on April 7, 1958 and become a #3 hit record, remaining on the chart for 11 weeks.

Till the next time—Joe
