Hello: On August 4, 1956 RCA Victor Records released a new Elvis Presley record.  One side was HOUND DOG the other side DON’T BE CRUEL.  Both sides of this classic record were #1 on the Pop Charts on August 18, 1956 and stayed at #1 for 11 weeks.  RCA reports sales of over 8 million copies making it the Kings biggest single record, but it doesn’t stop there, Hound Dog/Don’t Be Cruel were also #1 for 10 weeks on the Country chart and #1 for 6 weeks on the R&B chart.  Both sides of this multi-million selling hit stayed on the Top 100 for 28 weeks.

One of the biggest selling single records of all time and in 56′ Elvis was just getting started.  Elvis was enshrined in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1986.  He is listed by Joel Whitburn’s Record Research as the #1 recording artist of all-time.
