  1. Listening to El Paso again, reminded me of a program I was listening to regarding this song. I think most people think our hero who shot the “wild young cowboy” was pursued by a posse for shooting him. Quite the contrary..this was the old west-and running from the Cantina “caught a good one” is why they hunted him down. Having a fair shoot out was acceptable then, but horse stealing got you shot or hung.
    Just thought I’d share.
