Bobby Pedrick, Jr. is pop singer Robert John.  Born Robert John Pedrick on January 3, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York.  First recorded in 1958 at the age of 12 for Big Top Records.  His recording of…WHITE BUCKS AND SADDLE SHOES  made its Billboard Hot 100 debut on November 10, 1958.  The single charted at #74 and remained on the Hot 100 for 4 weeks.

Ten years later, in 1968 he would be back on the Hot 100 with…IF YOU DON’T WANT MY LOVE  on Columbia Records.  He was now using, Robert John as his recording name.  In 1972 he would chart a huge hit with The Tokens classic…THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT-#3 on Atlantic Records.  In 1979 he would chart his #1 hit single…SAD EYES  on EMI America Records.
