Frankie Avalon is one of the biggest teen idols of the era.  In 1958 he charted his first Billboard Top 100 hit single record…DE DE DINAH  a #7 hit on the Chancellor Records label.  Frankie was not just a singer but an Actor and a trumpet player.  He was with Rocco & His Saints in 1956, a group that included another future teen idol, Bobby Rydell.

Frankie charted hit after hit through 1958.  In 1959 he recorded his classic #1 hit…VENUS.  His follow-up record made its chart debut on May 25, 1959 and became his biggest double-sided hit…BOBBY SOX TO STOCKINGS  charted at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and its flip-side…A BOY WITHOUT A GIRL  climber to #10.  A double-sided Top 10 hit…another smash hit for Frankie Avalon…He was far from over…yet to come was his classics…JUST ASK YOUR HEART  #7  and his second #1 hit…WHY  in 1959.
