Johnny Maestro and The Crests were a favorite vocal group in 1959 when they released…THE ANGELS LISTENED IN.  In November of 1958 they charted their million-seller…16 CANDLES  on Coed Records,  a #2 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and a #4 hit on the Billboard R&B chart.  They follow with…SIX NIGHTS A WEEK  in March of 1959.  The single charted at #28 on the Hot 100 and #17 on the  R&B chart.  Their next single charted in June of 1959…FLOWER OF LOVE  charted at #79 on the Hot 100.

Their next hit single made its debut on August 17, 1959 and became another big hit for the Crests.  That great recording is…THE ANGELS LISTENED IN  it charted at #22 on the Hot 100 and #14 on the Billboard R&B chart.  The recording is one of the groups best…with a flowing rhythm and Johnny Maestro’s wonderful vocal.  The flip-side of the single record is…I THANK THE MOON  a tune that should have charted, but failed to.

The “GOLDEN ERA OF ROCK AND ROLL” IS PROUD TO FEATURE BOTH OF THESE FINE TUNES FOR YOU TO ENJOY…JOHNNY MAESTRO AND THE CRESTS…IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER!!!

The Angels Listened In

I Thank The Moon

Till the next time—Joe
