Hello, The Aquatones are a doo-wop group that was formed in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York. Lynne Nixon shared the lead vocals with Larry Vannata and other members were David Goddard and Eugene McCarthy. The group was a four-part harmony band and Lynne Nixon’s beautiful soprano soaring over the top, what a beautiful sound. The group formed in 1956 as the Rhythm Kings. Larry met Lynne at a dance and asked Eugene and Dave to give her an audition. Upon hearing her beautiful voice, she was added to the band, singing background. That of course was until Larry wrote their classic hit YOU, a song he wrote for her to sing. The group changed their name to The Aquatones. They were discovered by music promoter Lou Fargo who signed them to a recording contract in December of 1957 on his own label Fargo Records.

Hello, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles are one of the biggest groups of the 1960s and with Smokey singing lead the group charted 42 Billboard Hot 100 hits and 39 Billboard R&B hits between 1959 and 1972. When Smokey Robinson left for a solo career in 1973 the lead vocals were taken over by Billy Griffin. With him on lead The Miracles charted 4 Hot 100 hits and 9 R&B hits between 1973 and 1978.
The Miracles are from Detroit, Michigan. The line-up included…Smokey Robinson on lead, Claudette Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Ronnie White and Warren Moore. Claudette Rogers retired in 1964, she was married to Smokey Robinson from 1958-1986. Smokey wrote many of the groups hits and wrote hits for other Motown artists.

Hello, J.J. Jackson was born on April 8, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. His birth name is Jerome Louis Jackson. He is an R&B singer/songwriter. J.J. started out as a songwriter and arranger for artists such as Brother Jack McDuff, Jimmy Witherspoon and the Shangri-Las, and others. In 1969 he became a permanent resident of England.
J. J. is best remembered for his classic R&B recording of, BUT IT’S ALRIGHT. The single first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on October 1, 1966 on the Calla Records label. J.J.’s big hit record stayed on the Hot 100 for 13 weeks and charted at #22. BUT IT’S ALRIGHT also made its debut on the Billboard R&B chart on the same date, and climbing into the Top 10 at #4. J.J.’s hit remained on the R&B singles chart for 15 weeks.

The Moonglows are one of the most famous R&B and Doo-Wop groups of all-time. They formed in Cleveland, Ohio. Lead singers were Bobby Lester, who died in 1980 (age 50) and Harvey Fuqua, died in 2010 (age 80), with Alexander “Pete” Graves, died in 2006 (age 76), Prentiss Barnes, also died in 2006 (age 81) and Billy Johnson, who played guitar…he died in 1987 (age 58).
The Moonglows recorded classic hits such as…SINCERELY a #1 R&B hit in 1955…MOST OF ALL…#5 in 1955…WE GO TOGETHER…#9 in1956 and…SEE SAW…a #6 hit also in 1956. In 1957 The Moonglows recorded the #5 R&B hit record…PLEASE SEND ME SOMEONE TO LOVE.

Hello, The Falcons are an R&B vocal group from Detroit, Michigan. They were founded in 1955 by Eddie Floyd, members included Bonny “Sir Mack” Rice, Joe Stubbs (brother of the Four Tops’, Levi Stubbs), Willie Schofield and Lance Finnie. Wilson Pickett was a member on the group from 1961-1963. Their backing band was the Ohio Untouchables who would later become the Ohio Players.
Eddie Floyd would go on the have an outstanding solo career with hits such as his #1 R&B record, KNOCK ON WOOD in 1966. He would place 18 hits on the Billboard R&B chart. Wilson Pickett would record such classics as IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR, LAND OF 1000 DANCES, MUSTANG SALLY and FUNKY BROADWAY to mention a few. He would chart 49 Billboard R&B hit records.
